TEAK & TWINE
We first stumbled upon Teak & Twine last year via Instagram. It was hard not to immediately fall in love with their beautiful design, style + packaging. While we typically focus on Georgia-based businesses, we love that Teak supports the small "mom + pop" makers -- wherever that may be. Each box is filled with locally-sourced products and is hand-crafted to fit your needs and expectations. Read more about Teak's founder, Torrance Hart, and her passion for craftsmanship and life's little details.
Tell us about yourself: Torrance Hart, current resident of Destin, Florida and creator of Teak and Twine.
Goal of your company? It sounds trite but at Teak, we are all about surprising people and making their day! I love knowing that our clients are coming from a situation of gratitude + generosity whenever they reach out to us.
What makes you tick? Serial. Reading books about human behavior, business, and biographies. I also love working on home renovations -- in fifty years someone is going to find 7 layers of grey paint on every wall and think I was crazy!
Personal mantra: I am a huge fan of the Holstee Manifesto. It came into my life at the perfect time in 2012 and I still have it on the wall in my office.
Health trend you're loving: Every morning I drink a glass of water mixed with AmazingGrass and I swear by it!
MASSAGE + WELLNESS WITH MANDY MILLER
To fall in line with the theme of our previous post on holistic maternal wellness, today we are featuring the amazing and multi-talented, Mandy Miller of Mandy Miller Massage. Mandy is hands-down one of the most passionate women we have had the honor of meeting and whether during a massage session or while listening to her coach a client through some pre-birth questions, her love for her work shines through.
Tell us your name: Mandy Miller

What roles do you take on in your business? Licensed Massage Therapist / Labor Doula / Childbirth Educator / Yoga Instructor
Inspiration for running your own business? I grew up in a family business where my parents showed me the ins and outs of what it took. I knew I wanted to be my own boss and after 9 years I decided it was time.
What is the goal of your company? My goal for my business is simple: I want to bring comfort and support to my mamas and my daddys, making their birth experience a wonderful one and taking all the stress out of the process of birth for them. As far as massage goes, I want to bring peace and pain relief to my clients, giving them a place where they can rest both their minds and their souls.
Describe yourself in one word: BUBBLY (kinda like champagne)
Personal mantra or quote: "Life is not about finding yourself its about creating yourself."
Favorite indulgence: A wonderful mimosa.
Favorite exercise and how long you have been doing it: YOGA! I've been practicing for a few years.
Go-to pose: Currently, I am loving either dancer or tree pose. I love balance poses since I am always looking for balance in my crazy life!
OCMULGEE TRADERS: GOOD FOOD FOR GOOD PEOPLE
As you can see from our recent posts, we love Macon. And although we have a handful of Atlanta-centered posts on the horizon, we couldn't wait another minute to share about one of our go-to spots, Ocmulgee Traders. Nestled on Poplar Street in downtown Macon, the business combines an upscale urban grocery market with an upstairs cafe and bar.
The city-meets-country interior design along with the colorful collection of produce + artisan products is swoon-worthy enough but more importantly Ocmulgee Traders represents another step in the right direction for downtown as they become a more vibrant, sustainable community.
Maconite (and all-around good guy), Steve Bell, owns the store with his wife, Laura.
The store is bountiful in #GeorgiaGrown + #MaconMade products.
King of Pops + beer growlers for your more indulgent days.
